Calum Chambers is reportedly moving from Arsenal to Fulham on loan but could stay at Craven Cottage longer than first expected.
Ambitious Fulham might have failed to add Barcelona’s coveted Colombia international Yerry Mina to an increasingly impressive squad but the Mail reports that a new centre-back is on his way to Craven Cottage.
It is reported that Arsenal’s Calum Chambers will have a medical with the Craven Cottage club today ahead of what is expected to be a season-long loan in West London.
But Football London believe that Chambers could be staying with Fulham for a lot longer than the next nine months. It is reported that a deal has been reached between Arsenal and Fulham for the England U21 ace to sign permanently, most likely at the end of this season.
It is unknown how much Chambers will cost but he is unlikely to come cheap despite his relative lack of action at the Emirates. The Times in June claimed that Arsenal want £22 million for a player they signed from Southampton in 2014 for £16 million.
Chambers, who can also play at right-back, will add further depth to Slavisa Jokanovic’s defence after the additions of Alfie Mawson and Maxime Le Marchand earlier in the summer.
And the one-time Middlesbrough loanee will be hoping to get his career back on track at Craven Cottage.
