Championship hopefuls Nottingham Forest reportedly want to trim the deadwood from their squad.
Nottingham Forest have made a whole host of signings this summer as Aitor Karanka looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion.
In total, nine new players have arrived at the City Ground already, including former player Michael Dawson, the Croatian league’s Player of the Year El Arabi Hillel Soudani and £13 million record signing Joao Carvalho.
As a result, it is inevitable that some will have to depart to make way for these new additions. And the Nottingham Post is claiming that four players have now been told that they have no future at the City Ground.
It is understood that Forest will look to part company with long-serving defender Michael Mancienne, who is in talks to join Turkish second division outfit Rizespor.
Left-back Armand Traore has also been told he can leave and appears to be on his way to Turkey too amid interest from Antalyaspor, as reported by Fanatik. The former Arsenal man spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City.
Forest are also keen to part ways with Jason Cummings, one year after he arrived from Hibernian for £1 million. The Scottish striker is a target for Sunderland, according to the Northern Echo.
And the final player is Jamie Ward (below). Like Traore, the 32-year-old Northern Ireland international joined Cardiff on loan in January but started just two games as Neil Warnock’s side sealed promotion to the Premier League.
All four have been left out of Forest’s pre-season trip to Spain.
