Championship strugglers Queens Park Rangers are trialling a number of young players, including Rowan and former Derby County striker Lewis Walker.
Queens Park Rangers are looking rather vulnerable on and off the pitch right now. The oft-criticised Steve McClaren has taken his side to 18th in the Championship while a transfer embargo, that will prevent QPR from signing new players in January, looms large.
Maybe this explains why the Londoners are scouring the market for potential young talents who would not cost a penny.
According to West London Sport, 20-year-old striker Lewis Walker remains on trial at QPR after being released by Derby County in the summer. He is expected to feature for a development side against Ipswich Town on Friday afternoon.
And the report adds that the former Watford defender Charlie Rowan is also being looked at by the Loftus Road side.
Rowan, who is also 20, has not made a senior appearance yet, having failed to feature during a loan spell at Accrington Stanley. He was let go by Watford in the summer and, according to WLS, is now an option for QPR after a brief spell in Italy with Torino.
Rowan is a left-back by trade who can also play at centre-half, so he could boost a QPR defence that has been left red-faced on a number of occasions this season.
