Edimilson Fernandes left the Premier League and West Ham United to sign on loan for Serie A outfit Fiorentina in the summer transfer window.

Fiorentina have decided to take up the option to sign Edimilson Fernandes on a permanent basis from West Ham United at the end of the season, as reported by Firenze Viola.
A 22-year-old Swiss international, Fernandes moved to Italy last summer after failing to impress Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini in pre-season and has made a largely positive impact in the purple of Fiorentina.
He has started 16 Serie A games for La Viola and scored his second goal in three matches during Sunday’s 4-1 away win at SPAL, drilling home from distance.

Fiorentina signed Fernandes on loan with an option to purchase him permanently for a fee of around £6.5 million. And Firenze Viola believes that they will now take up that option with the versatile midfielder starting to impress on a regular basis at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
West Ham paid £5 million to sign Fernandes from FC Sion in the summer of 2016 during Slaven Bilic’s time in charge at the London Stadium, as reported by the BBC, and he made 48 appearances for the club, scoring a single goal.
