Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are once again facing uncertainty over the future of Belgium’s World Cup centre-back Dedryck Boyata.

Celtic might not want to sell Dedryck Boyata but it is becoming increasingly apparent that they may have to.
It is common knowledge that the centre-back is out of contract in a year, but so far the Scottish Premiership champions have refused to cash in, rejecting a £9 million bid from Fulham according to the Mail.
But it seems their worst fears could be realised. Jacques Lichtenstein, Boyata’s agent, has told the Daily Record that his client plans to sign a pre-contract agreement in January, meaning he will leave next summer for nothing.
Unless, of course, Celtic decide that they have no choice but to sell him before the end of this month. And they might still have an opportunity to do just that.
Ajansspor is reporting that Fenerbahce want to sign a centre-back in August and have put Boyata, who finished third in the World Cup with Belgium, at the top of their list. Last season’s Super Lig runners-up are also allegedly keen on Marcos Rojo (below) and £32 million Eliaquim Mangala from Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.

Stoke’s Bruno Martins Indi is also an option, as is AC Milan’s Argentine defender Matteo Musacchio.
If Fenerbahce are willing to offer a decent fee, Celtic should really consider selling now rather than losing Boyata for absolutely nothing.
