Scottish Premiership giants Rangers face a challenge holding on to Alfredo Morelos with Super Lig club Fenerbahce reportedly stepping up their interest.
Fenerbahce are certainly stepping up their attempts to land Alfredo Morelos from Rangers.
Milliyet stated on Tuesday that the Turkish club’s director of football Damien Comolli was in Glasgow holding talks with the Scottish Premiership giants about a potential deal for their Colombian hotshot.
And Sporx provides on update on Wednesday which represents perhaps the biggest test yet of whether Rangers are able to hang on to the man they signed from HJK Helsinki last summer for a bargain £1 million.
It is understood that Fenerbahce have now made a bid of £2.6 million for Morelos as they aim to tempt Rangers into a sale.
Fener, who missed out on the Super Lig title last season to bitter Istanbul neighbours Galatasaray, have made a new striker a top priority after losing both Fernandao and Vincent Janssen already this summer.
And Morelos, who scored 18 goals in his first season in Scottish football, appears to be at the top of their wishlist alongside Sporting Lisbon’s lethal Dutchman Bas Dost, who could leave on a free after moving to terminate his contract.
But surely Rangers will not sell Morelos for £2.5 million, especially after rejecting an eight-figure sum from China back in the winter.
