Serie A champions Juve reportedly offered Stefano Sturaro to Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers before he joined Sporting Lisbon.

Despite being linked with a number of Premier League teams over the last year or so, Stefano Sturaro has left Juventus for Portuguese football.
The four-time Italy international has joined Sporting Lisbon on a season-long loan; an impressive coup for a club who have endured a disastrous 2018 having seen a number of their key players terminate their contracts after a series of unseemly off-the-field issues.
But why hasn’t Sturaro moved to the Premier League instead? Portuguese publication Record have shined a light on the situation after reports linking Wolverhampton Wanderers with a big-money move for the four-time Serie A champion.
According to Record, Juventus offered Wolves the chance to sign Sturaro. But the Premier League newcomers had no interest in paying the £18 million required to bring the former Genoa man to Molineux on a temporary deal.

Considering that Wolves would go on to sign the promising Belgian international Leander Dendoncker for a few million less, you can see why Nuno Espirito Santo and co believed that there could be better options on the market for a more reasonable price.
The report adds that Watford took a similar stance to Wolves, most certainly boosted by the news that Abdoulaye Doucoure will be staying for another year.
