Slavisa Jokanovic has sealed Premier League promotions with Watford and Fulham, but could he repeat the trick at West Bromwich Albion?

West Bromwich Albion have been priced out of a move for Slavisa Jokanovic, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Baggies were understandably left frustrated after one of the Championship’s most proven and experienced squads missed out on an immediate return to the Premier League in 2018/19, West Brom losing to arch rivals Aston Villa in the play-off semi-finals.

As a result, the Midland giants are searching for a new manager to take them back to the big time and Jokanovic emerged as one of the front-runners as far back as March, when Darren Moore was sacked in contentious fashion.

The 50-year-old Serb is not only renowned for his attractive, attacking football, he has also taken Watford and Fulham to the Premier League in recent seasons.

According to the Birmingham Mail, West Brom are now looking at other options because Jokanovic’s wages are just too rich for a side who appear to be looking to cut costs this summer.

Jokanovic has also been heavily linked with Middlesbrough but the Northern Echo reported last week that the North East outfit could also struggle to afford one of the most in-demand coaches in England.
