Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have reportedly beaten Serie A powerhouses Inter Milan to the signature of Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

Celtic fans could be forgiven for reserving their judgement about Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
The new £2 million signing from Dunajska Streda is far from a household name and no one knows how he will take to life in Scotland after arriving from Slovakian football. Will Bayo be the new Moussa Dembele or another striking flop like Teemu Pukki or Amido Balde?
Only time will tell.
Though reports from the Daily Star today suggest that the little-known Bayo could prove to be something of a coup for the Scottish Premiership champions.
It is understood that Celtic were facing competition from one of the biggest and most reputable clubs in European football – the 2010 Champions League winners Inter Milan.

But, the report adds, Bayo turned down a move to the San Siro because he has been guaranteed regular first-team football at Celtic. Inter, however, saw him as ‘one for the future’ and planned to loan him out to Serie A high-flyers Parma.
Nonetheless, the fact that a club of Inter’s size were interested speaks volumes about the talent of Bayo, who arrives having scored 18 goals in 23 games for Streda in the first half of the season.
Suddenly, a rather unconvincing signing looks like a very impressive swoop.
