Premier League champions Manchester City signed Millwall youngster Samuel Edozie while Everton, Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers backed away.

Manchester City have snapped up Samuel Edozie though their task was made a lot easier by the fact that Everton, Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers all passed up the chance to sign the exciting forward, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.
The Premier League champions are yet to really make their mark on the summer transfer window despite being linked with record-breaking moves for the likes of Rodri Hernandez and Harry Maguire.
But they do appear to have snapped up a potential star of the future with Edozie moving to Manchester from Millwall.
The Manchester Evening News claims that the teenager turned down the chance to sign a scholarship with Millwall with the chance to play for Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City side proving too good to turn down. It is understood that he could cost a total of £2 million.
And it remains to be seen if the likes of Liverpool, Wolves and Everton, who had been watching Edozie since his days at U14 level, regret standing aside and making City’s task a whole lot easier.

All Nigeria Soccer claims that all three clubs were reluctant to pay a substantial price-tag for a player who is yet to make his mark at senior level.
And time will tell whether City is the right place for Edozie to fulfil his potential. After all, the likes of Brahim Diaz, Rabbi Matondo and Jadon Sancho have all forced moves away from the Etihad in recent times due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
