Everton are keen to raid Premier League rivals Leicester City for star striker Jamie Vardy with Director of Football Steve Walsh behind the deal.

Cenk Tosun is finding form at Everton and has two in his last two games, but it seems that the Turkish international will still be joined by another new striker at Goodison Park in the summer.
The Mirror is reporting that Everton have made Leicester City’s rampaging frontman Jamie Vardy their number one transfer target. The England international may be 31 these days but he has not lost a yard of his trademark pace and has 14 goals in 29 Premier League appearances this season.

And it will come as no surprise to learn that a deal for Vardy is being championed by director of football Steve Walsh – the man who uncovered him at Fleetwood Town and brought the striker to Leicester for £1 million in 2012.
Though there is a potential pitfall.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Walsh, who has come under fire from supporters for a series of below par signings, faces an uncertain future at Goodison Park.

Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has seen countless millions wasted on Michael Keane, Morgan Schneiderlin, Ashley Williams and co and it is understood that PSV’s Sporting Director Marcel Brands has been lined up as a replacement.
If Brands does arrive, he will have his own transfer targets, and Vardy, who is very much Walsh’s man, could see a dream move to Merseyside slip through his fingers.
Though, based on how Walsh’s other signings have performed at Everton, the fans seem keen to sacrifice Vardy to get him out of the club.
Mate Walsh is simply rotten at his job. He wanted to bring in Vincent Jansen at deadline day and been wanting Jamie Vardy. That’s tells you something and it’s grim. Not only he’s not a good DoF, I don’t even think hes good at being a Chief Scout apart from a few buys at Leicester
