Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has been linked with Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion after submitting a transfer request.

After tumbling down the pecking order and making just one Premier League start in 2018, it seems that Isaac Hayden has grown tired with life on the Newcastle United bench.
The former Arsenal youngster has allegedly handed in a transfer request and, according to the Chronicle, Brighton and Hove Albion are willing to offer £10 million in order to offer him an escape route.
And latest reports from the Argus are explaining why Brighton are keen on paying an eight-figure sum for a player who was not deemed good enough to secure a place in Rafa Benitez’s starting XI last season.
The report claims that Hayden would add a useful element of versatility to Chris Hughton’s squad. The 23-year-old is a holding midfielder by trade but is capable of filling in at right-back or centre-half if required.

The Argus also points out that Hayden, who was born in Chelmsford and represented Southend United before joining Arsenal in 2008, would help Brighton meet the quota of homegrown players in stipulation with Premier League rules.
Whether Newcastle would be willing to let Hayden go for £10 million or more remains to be seen.
The one-time Hull City loanee is keen to be reunited with his wife and children down south, however, so his decision to leave Newcastle appears to be based on more than sporting reasons.
