Premier League high flyers Burnley reportedly offered Nantes’ Ligue 1 midfielder Abdoulaye Toure a five-year contract to move to Turf Moor.

Burnley have finally, belatedly, got their first transfer of the summer across the line, with Middlesbrough captain Ben Gibson arriving at Turf Moor over the weekend.
But there is little doubt that Sean Dyche would like to bring in one or two more additions before the transfer window slams shut, particularly with the Clarets aiming to balance Premier League and Europa League commitments over the next few months.
Reports in L’Equipe a fortnight ago claimed that Burnley had initiated talks with Ligue 1 side Nantes about signing the highly-rated midfielder Abdoulaye Toure. It was reported that Burnley had even offered him a five-year contract and were willing to pay £10.5 million, which would make Toure the fourth most expensive player in their history.
Since then, however, the trail has grown somewhat cold.

Latest reports from Get French Football News are claiming that the offer of a move to Lancashire is still on the table, but Toure is unsure about moving to England this summer.
The 24-year-old former France youth international has been with Nantes all his career and enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign in 2017/18, winning the club’s Player of the Year award. Although it seems for now that he is happy in his homeland with a move to Burnley very much up in the air.
