Slavisa Jokanovic has been heavily tipped to take over at Championship underachievers Boro.

Slavisa Jokanovic would want to complete a substantial overhaul of Middlesbrough playing staff if he is appointed as the club’s new manager, as reported by the Northern Echo.
A promotion specialist who has led Watford and Fulham to the Premier League in recent years have been heavily tipped to take over at the Riverside after the sacking of Tony Pulis in May.
50-year-old Jokanovic has been out of work since he was forced out at Fulham late in 2018 and his proven track record in the Championship, not to mention a penchant for attractive, free-flowing football, would make him a popular appointment amongst Boro supporters.
But it remains to be seen whether a Middlesbrough side who’s parachute payments have come to an end can meet his demands.

The Echo claims that Jokanovic would want to build a team in his image, which would therefore require a number of high-profile signings and some big-name departures.
As a result, it is understood that the ‘practicalities’ of appointing the one-time Chelsea defender are particularly difficult.
The Echo suggests that first-team coach Jonathan Woodgate currently looks like the favourite for the top job.
