Slavisa Jokanovic lead Watford and Fulham into the Premier League but could he do the same at Championship underachievers Boro?

Middlesbrough could be priced out of a move for Slavisa Jokanovic, according to the Northern Echo, as the Championship club scour the market for a new manager.
The 2019/20 campaign proved to be a huge disappointment for Boro, who missed out on a place in the play-offs and scored fewer goals than relegated Rotherham United. It was no surprise, then, when Tony Pulis was sacked.
The experienced Welshman was derided among many supporters for his ultra-pragmatic style but his potential successor Jokanovic could hardly be more different in terms of his preferred tactical approach.
A softly-spoken Serb who sealed promotion to the Premier League with both Watford and Fulham, Jokanovic is famous for his high-octane, free-flowing attacking football and his appointment would surely be welcomed by the majority of Middlesbrough fans.

But, according to the Northern Echo, the 50-year-old’s wages could be too costly for a club whose parachute payments have now come to an end.
The report adds that first-team coach Jonathan Woodgate is still in contention for the top job but Michael Reiziger, a former Boro defender, is out of the running after being confirmed as Ajax’s assistant coach.
