Centre-back Joe Worrall has not played a minute of Championship football so far this season for Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest.

Joe Worrall would probably be better off leaving Nottingham Forest on loan before the end of the month.
The defenders stock was very high as recently as January. Worrall shone as Forest stunned Arsenal 4-2 in the FA Cup third round and the Championship side rejected a £10 million bid from Premier League suitors Burnley, as reported by The Sun.
But 21-year-old Worrall lost his place in Nottingham Forest’s starting XI soon after with manager Aitor Karanka preferring the Portuguese U23 international Tobias Figueiredo.
Now, with Michael Dawson, Michael Hefele and Jack Robinson all arriving over the summer, Worrall has failed to play a single minute of Forest’s Championship campaign thus far.
And according to The Sun (19 August, page 60), England’s Toulon tournament winning captain is not part of Karanka’s immediate plans and is unlikely to force his way back into the starting XI in the near future.

But it is too early to write off the latest Forest academy graduate so a temporary move away from the club makes sense. Teams in the Football League have until the end of August to sign players on loan and the 6ft 4ins Worrall could be a fine addition to a side needing a commanding centre-back.
At such a young age, however, it is imperative that he joins a side who will play him regularly.
