Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole has been tipped to reunite with former Black Cats manager Gus Poyet at Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux.

Lee Cattermole could still be set to leave Sunderland this month.
The experienced midfielder is the highest earning player in the Black Cats’ squad and the Wearside club are confident that the £40,000 a week man will be on his way before the end of August.
Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji are also expected to depart but the Sunderland Echo report that 30-year-old Cattermole is the closest to the exit as things stand.
He has been linked with a shock move to France with Bordeaux, where he would reunite with former Sunderland manager Gus Poyet, who engineered a quite brilliant turnaround at the Ligue 1 club after being appointed midway through last season.

And the Echo report that talks with Bordeaux are at an advanced stage, with Cattermole open to a move across the Channel.
It is understood that Uruguayan Poyet has a close relationship with Cattermole, who was his captain at Sunderland, and the one-time Wigan Athletic enforcer believes he can make an impact in France’s top flight.
Hull City were also linked with signing Cattermole on loan but the Echo reports that they failed to firm up their interest.
