Simon Mignolet has not played a Premier League game for Jurgen Klopp this season but will Bournemouth sign the Liverpool goalkeeper?
Liverpool are willing to sell back-up goalkeeper Simon Mignolet for just £4.3 million this summer, according to HLN.
The Belgium international is one of the most long-serving players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad, having moved to Anfield in 2013 after a stellar spell at Sunderland.
But Mignolet’s time on Merseyside will unfortunately be remembered for a series of unconvincing displays with his penchant for untimely errors seeing him lose his place to Lorus Karius at the start of 2018 before Liverpool spent big to bring Alisson Becker to England.
As a result, the 31-year-old is now stuck on the sidelines and has failed to make a single Premier League appearance during the 2018/19 campaign.
And HLN claims that any clubs hoping to end Mignolet’s bench-warming days will have to pay just £4.3 million – around £5 million less than they paid six years ago (BBC). Club Brugge are keen but it is reported that they could now afford the former Sint Truiden stopper at that price.
Bournemouth, however, should have no such concerns. The Mail reported recently that the Cherries have identified Mignolet, Jack Butland and Nick Pope as top targets as they aim to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.
Mignolet is likely to be the cheapest of the three.
