Marseille are missing a striker and appear to have Celtic’s Moussa Dembele on their hit list again, but will the Scottish Premiership side sell?

Marseille are on the lookout for a new striker this summer and there have been a number of big-name centre-forwards linked with a move to the Ligue 1 giants as a result.

It should come as no surprise that the French side want to bring Les Blues’ U21 goal-scoring prodigy to the Stade Velodrome. Dembele is seen as a future number nine for France at senior level and the Scottish Sun claimed last August that they were prepared to offer £27.5 million, before giving up when it became clear Celtic were not going to sell.
But with the 21-year-old former Fulham striker seemingly on his way out after just two seasons in Glasgow, he is back on the radar.
And there is allegedly no one the Marseille fans would want more. According to France Football (March edition) Dembele would be the most popular addition among one of the nation’s most vociferous fan bases this summer.

It is understood that they would rather sign him than even Balotelli, who is in the form of his life right now on the back of 22 goals for Nice, or Sevilla’s Champions League specialist Ben Yedder.
And Marseille may be in luck this summer. Rodgers has always predicted that Dembele would leave in the summer of 2018 and, after netting just 14 goals in a relatively difficult second season, it would be little surprise if Celtic decided to cash in.
