Everton brought Cenk Tosun to the Premier League in January, paying Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas £27 million for the striker.
Cenk Tosun perhaps faced an impossible task when he arrived at Everton from Besiktas in January for the hefty fee of £27 million (Sky Sports).
The Toffees had lacked a reliable goal threat since Romelu Lukaku departed for Manchester United. And, after an initial bright start to life on Merseyside, Tosun has struggled to show that he has the quality or the consistency the fill the boots of the Belgian.
Tosun has scored just six times in 22 Premier League games and a January exit has been mooted with a return to Besiktas identified as a possibility in Mynet.
But, less than a year after arriving, it seems that Tosun has no interest yet in giving up on his Everton career.
According to Turkish Football, the 27-year-old Turkish international is fully committed to Marco Silva’s side and has not held talks with Besiktas about a potential return to Istanbul.
Besiktas are keen to bring in a new striker in the New Year, having sold Alvaro Negredo in the summer, so it would be no surprise if they did make a move to bring Tosun back in three months’ time.
