Ryan Ledson did not make the grade at Premier League giants Everton but could step up to the Championship with Preston North End keen.

A number of talented young Everton midfielders have been tipped to move to the Championship this month.
As reported by The Sun, Bristol City want Premier League 2 winning midfielder Liam Walsh and are prepared to pay £1 million to bring the youngster to Ashton Gate.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, Barnsley have made a bid to sign Joe Williams on a permanent deal after an impressive loan spell at Oakwell.
Now, Ryan Ledson, the former Everton prodigy who left to join Oxford United in the summer of 2016, is being tipped to follow his fellow Goodison Park graduates Walsh and Williams into the second tier. The Daily Mail (live blog, 11.08am) reports that Preston North End are interested in doing a deal for the tenacious midfielder.

Ledson was once seen as one of the most exciting youngsters in Everton’s productive academy and even captained England’s Under-17s to success at the 2014 European Championships, earning a place in the Team of the Tournament to boot.
The 20-year-old, however, has only made one first-team appearance for the Toffees, coming in a 2014 Europa League clash against Krasnodar. And his 14 year association with the Merseyside giants came to an end in 2016.

Now, after an impressive 18 months at Oxford, Preston are hoping to make him their third addition of the transfer window. Motherwell striker Louis Moult and Bristol Rovers’ 11-goal hitman Billy Bodin have already signed up at Deepdale with Alex Neil’s side hoping to put together a surprise promotion push in the second half of this season.
