Hannes Wolf’s brilliant form in the Austrian Bundesliga and Europa League has reportedly caught the eye of Premier League Everton.

Hannes Wolf was an absolute revelation as Red Bull Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga title while exceeding all expectations to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League last season.

The 19-year-old forward scored 12 times and set up eight more in a fantastic debut season and, as a result, has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs – including Everton.

The Mirror claims that the Toffees are tracking the teenage hot-shot who is renowned for his speed and versatility. Wolf, who has a contract at Salzburg until 2020, started 20 league games for the Austrian champions last season.

“Hannes is a special player with a special quality, but he works for the team too – that’s what I like,” Rose, who was linked with the Borussia Dortmund job earlier in the summer, said in quotes reported by the Mirror.

Everton are expected to perform a major overhaul of their squad this summer and, while some big-name signings will be needed, director of football Marcel Brands has also spoken about the importance of putting faith in youth.

The Toffees won the Premier League 2 title in 2017 with the likes of Tom Davies, Mason Holgate, Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin earning a place in the senior side as a result.

Wolf, then, would be in good company.
