Former Arsenal youngster Oguzhan Ozyakup looks likely to return to the Premier League with Everton keen to raid Super Lig giants Besiktas again.

Everton supporters might have wondered whether they had missed their chance to sign Oguzhan Ozyakup when he signed a contract with Besiktas back in March.

The Turkish international, who had helped Senol Gunes’ side win successive Super Lig titles, was due to become a free agent in the summer and Everton, along with the likes of Newcastle United, were keen to pick him up for nothing, according to Fotomac.

But the publication then added that Ozyakup performed a sudden U-turn and instead agreed fresh terms with Besiktas. Although this does not mean that the one-time Arsenal youngster will not be returning to England this summer.

According to Hurriyet, Ozyakup’s new deal contained a release clause of around £10.5 million meaning he is still likely to leave, but a Besiktas side who signed him from Arsenal six years ago and helped him blossom into a regular for the Turkish national team will receive a deserved financial return on their investment.

And the report adds that Everton are the most serious suitor right now and are ready to pay the £10.5 million required. Ozyakup, Hurriyet claims, wants a new challenge so Besiktas may be powerless to prevent his exit.

This would be the second time in two transfer windows that Everton have raided Besiktas. They spent £27 million on Cenk Tosun on January and, after a slow start, the striker ended a promising debut season with five goals in 12 Premier League starts.
