RB Leipzig really want to bring Ademola Lookman to the Bundesliga and Premier League side Everton have reportedly told them how much to pay.

Ademola Lookman really made a positive impression during his loan spell at RB Leipzig in the second half of last season; so much so that the Bundesliga club are allegedly desperate to sign him on a permanent basis.

The Mirror (live blog, 12.39pm) reported earlier this month that Everton had rejected a new and improved offer from Leipzig worth £14 million for the 20-year-old winger, who scored five times in seven Bundesliga starts between January and May.

But Leipzig are not willing to accept defeat just yet. Bild is reporting now that Ralf Rangnick, who will combine sporting director and coaching duties next season, is ‘fighting like a lion’ to bring Lookman back to Northern Germany.

And it is understood that the England U23 ace was so happy during his time on the continent that he would be open to the idea of joining Leipzig again.

Although making the move will be easier said than done. Lookman, who joined from Charlton Athletic in January 2017 for £11 million, has three years left on his contract and Bild claims that he is part of Marco Silva’s plans at Everton.

Director of football Marcel Brands is also a big fan.

And Everton have slapped an £18 million price-tag on his head – a fee that, as it stands, Leipzig are simply not ready to pay.
