La Liga champions Barca paid £14m to sign French left-back Lucas Digne in 2016 and Premier League Everton could reportedly pay that fee, too.

Everton have spent a number of months looking for a left-back to provide competition for, and eventually replace, Leighton Baines.
And it seems that they have identified Barcelona’s France international Lucas Digne as their number one target.
The Telegraph reported at the weekend that Everton were keen on a double deal for Barca’s defensive duo Digne and Yerry Mina. And, while a deal for the latter appears to be up in the air right now, the Toffees are allegedly stepping up their pursuit of the former.
Mundo Deportivo is claiming that Everton are preparing an offer of around £14 million, which would see the La Liga champions recoup every penny they paid to sign the former PSG and Roma man in 2016.

It is understood that Digne is one of a number of fringe players that Barcelona are looking to sell this summer, including Marlon Santos, Andre Gomes, Aleix Vidal and Rafinha. Brazil midfielder Paulinho has already returned to China after one season at the Camp Nou.
24-year-old Digne made just eight La Liga starts last season as Barca reclaimed their title but Everton should not be put off by that. He was behind the brilliant Jordi Alba in the pecking order after all.
