Premier League giants Everton are reportedly set to sell a number of players this summer but is Mason Holgate heading out of Goodison Park?

Everton have already sold Ramiro Funes-Mori to Villarreal and are keen to get Ashley Williams off the books too, according to The Mirror. But one defender Everton do not want to sell is Mason Holgate.
The Toffees are expected to embark on a massive overhaul of their squad in the last month of the transfer window with around 15 players having been tipped to depart, including Morgan Schneiderlin, Oumar Niasse and Yannick Bolasie.
Wayne Rooney has already been forced out, joining DC United after being told he was not in Marco Silva’s plans.

Though it seems that the new Everton manager does have a place for Holgate. The Liverpool Echo claims that Silva and director of football Marcel Brands are firm admirers of the former Barnsley youngster and have big plans for him at Goodison Park.
As a result, Everton have no interest in cashing in on 21-year-old Holgate, meaning any potential suitor would be wasting their time making an approach.

The ball-playing centre-half, who can also fill in at right-back, came on leaps and bounds last season and impressed despite Everton’s poor defensive record.
He started 13 Premier League games and should be well placed to challenge Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane for a starting spot soon.
