Stoke City’s Badou Ndiaye appears to be on his way back to the Premier League with Everton reportedly leading the chase.
Badou Ndiaye has been linked with a move away from Stoke City ever since they were relegated from the Premier League, despite only arriving at the Potteries in January for £14 million.
The likes of Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have been mentioned as potential suitors, but it seems now that Everton are leading the chase to sign the Senegal international before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
The Mail (live blog, 1.30pm) reported a week ago that Everton were interested in signing the energetic midfielder, with Marco Silva keen to partner Ndiaye with his Senegal teammate Idrissa Gana Gueye in the centre of the park.
It was also claimed that Ndiaye would welcome the chance to return to the Premier League rather than spend the season in the Championship with Stoke.
And latest reports from the Mail (live blog, 11.53am) suggest that Everton are now stepping up their pursuit. It is claimed that Everton held further talks with Ndiaye on Monday, as a move to Goodison Park appears to edge closer.
The 27-year-old might not be the only big-money midfielder to leave Stoke this week. It is reported that Potters flop Gianni Imbula could move to Levante to replace Bournemouth-bound Jefferson Lerma.
