Wesley Said has made a big impact for Dijon in Ligue 1 this season and that could earn the Frenchman a move to the Premier League with Everton.
Another day, another Ligue 1 striker linked with Everton.
Calciomercato claimed this week that The Toffees are rivalling Premier League duo Newcastle United and Burnley for Nice’s red-hot Alassane Plea, who has scored 13 goals in the French top flight this season.
Plea has even netted seven in his last four, perhaps justifying a price-tag of £15 million, according to the Shields Gazette.
The skilful striker has netted nine times and produced four assists for The Mustards in 2017/18 and it understood that big offers could be coming his way this summer.
Le10 Sport claim that Everton are interested and so too are Valencia, with the La Liga giants set for a return to the Champions League and boasting the creativity required to put chances on a plate for the former France U21 international.
Said would not be the most awe-inspiring signing for Everton this summer, given that he is hardly a household name in England and had only scored four goals in Ligue 1 prior to this season.
But Said is just 22 years of age and has plenty of room to improve – and would perhaps be the sort of under-the-radar young talent that Everton appointed director of football Steve Walsh to find.
