Michy Batshuayi has scored two Premier League goals since joining Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea but could he be on his way to Everton?
Crystal Palace are unlikely to sign Michy Batshuayi on a permanent basis at the end of the season but Everton are still in the mix to sign the Chelsea striker, as reported by Goal.
A £33 million signing from Marseille in 2016, the Belgian international might have scored the goal that sealed the Premier League title for Chelsea two years ago but his Blues career has been up in the air ever since.
After spells at Borussia Dortmund and Valencia, Batshuayi joined Crystal Palace on loan in January and he has enjoyed a new lease of life at Selhurst Park, scoring three times so far.
But Goal points out that Palace do not have an option to buy the 25-year-old in the summer and probably couldn’t afford him anyway.
Furthermore, it is claimed that Batshuayi is uncertain about whether Crystal Palace is the right place for him to finally fulfil his potential.
Interestingly, Goal adds that Everton have shown an interest in Batshuayi with a new centre-forward understood to be high on their wish list and they could be in luck, given that the World Cup semi-finalist is unlikely to get a chance as long as Maurizio Sarri remains at Stamford Bridge.
The Guardian reported that Everton held talks with Chelsea over an eleventh-hour £35 million deadline day deal for Batshuayi in January, though he ended up at Palace instead.
