Prolific former Manchester City youngster Godsway Donyoh could potentially return to the Premier League with Marco Silva’s Everton.
Everton’s director of football Marcelo Brands is a master of spotting rough diamonds.
During his time as the recruitment chief of PSV Eindhoven, Brands bought and sold the likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Dries Mertens and Jetro Willems – so Everton fans should not be concerned with their shock links with an uncapped Ghanaian centre-forward.
According to Ghana Soccer Net, Everton are one of three Premier League teams, alongside Leicester City and Bournemouth, keen on the 24-year-old FC Nordsjaelland striker Godsway Donyoh after a run of seven goals in 11 games in the Danish top flight.
And new claims from Football Ghana report that Toffees head coach Marco Silva is even willing to send Cenk Tosun out on loan to make room for Donsah at Goodison Park. Silva, it is claimed, sees the Accra-born forward as the ideal addition to his team.
In truth, Tosun has never really lived up to the £27 million Everton paid Besiktas for his signature in January. The Turkish international has scored just two goals in 10 Premier League games this season and reports in The Mail have suggested that Besiktas would jump at the chance to bring him back to Istanbul on a temporary basis.
Whether Donyoh, who played for Manchester City’s reserves between 2013 and 2015, can be classed as an upgrade remains to be seen.
