Miguel Veloso is without a club after leaving Serie A outfit Genoa, but Premier League duo Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in the player.

Could yet another Portugal international be on his way to Molineux?

Wolverhampton Wanderers have already signed Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho this summer, enhancing an Ibernian contingent which includes Helder Costa, Ruben Neves, Ruben Vinagre and Diogo Jota.

But TEAMtalk are now reporting that Wolves are keen to sign Miguel Veloso, too, and can do so outside of the transfer window given that the experienced midfielder is a free-agent.

32-year-old Veloso is without a club after leaving Genoa this summer following two years in Italy. He has also played for Sporting Lisbon and Dynamo Kiev, and has featured 56 times for the Portuguese national team.

TEAMtalk adds that Everton are also interested in signing Veloso on a free transfer. Like Wolves, The Toffees have a Portuguese manager in the dugout (Marco Silva), and Veloso would offer plenty of intelligence and big-game nous in the centre of the park.

The two-time Ukrainian league champion can also play at centre-back, meaning he could provide back-up for the likes of Everton’s Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma and Mason Holgate. Veloso would also fit into the back three established by Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves.

Veloso has been linked with a move to England for a decade.
