Premier League duo Everton and West Ham United are both reportedly looking to Serie A for defenders with Sassuolo’s Ferrari in demand.

West Ham United might have smashed their transfer record to bring in £25 million Issa Diop from Toulouse, but he may not be the only new centre-back at the London Stadium this summer.
Gianluca Di Marzio claimed a fortnight ago that the Hammers are interested in signing Gian Marco Ferrari from Serie A outfit Sassuolo. But West Ham are not the only Premier League side keeping a close eye on the 26-year-old Italian.

Corriere dello Sport understands that Everton are also interested. Ferrari, who returned to Sassuolo at the end of last season after a loan spell at Sampdoria, is understood to be on the market for a minimum of £7 million.
Like West Ham, Everton conceded far too many goals last season and need new additions to shore up a leaky back line, particularly with Ramiro Funes-Mori gone and Ashley Williams expected to follow.

Ferrari, who is also a target for Russian side Spartak Moscow, is a solid and reliable defender willing to put his body on the line for the cause.
Formerly of Parma and Crotone, the 6ft 2ins powerhouse was called up to the Italy squad for their friendly clashes with Argentina and England back in March.
