Juanpe Ramirez was relegated from La Liga with Girona this season but he reportedly has Premier League offers from Everton and Watford.

Everton and Watford are hoping to benefit from Girona’s relegation from La Liga with AS claiming that they are eyeing up talented centre-back Juanpe Ramirez.

The 28-year-old defender has been on quite a journey since he moved to Catalonia in 2016. In his debut campaign, Juanpe played a key role as Girona were promoted to the Spanish top flight for the first time in their history.

But the Barcelona-based outfit are now on their way back to the Segunda after a late-season collapse saw Girona drop into the relegation zone. And while Juanpe rejected a move away from the Montilivi last year, the prospect of playing second-tier football could convince the Spaniard to walk away.

He isn’t short of offers.

Premier League duo Everton and Watford are both willing to pay £6 million for Juanpe, who is renowned for his tough-tackling style and his strength in the air.

Everton potentially see Juanpe as an affordable replacement for Kurt Zouma, who is expected to return to parent club Chelsea this summer after an impressive loan spell at Goodison Park. Veteran Phil Jagielka is also out of contract.
