Juan Quintero could finally arrive in the Premier League with Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly interested in the River Plate talisman.

Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool are both interested in signing Colombian World Cup star Juan Fernando Quintero in the summer, according to Don Balon.

The 26-year-old is currently plying his trade at River Plate in his native South America after failing to establish himself at Porto, and it is fair to say he is playing the best football of his career in Argentina.

Quintero was arguably the star of the show as River Plate beat bitter rivals Boca Juniors to win the Copa Libertadores in December, putting the icing on a fine calendar year which saw the gifted play-maker shine for Colombia at the World Cup.

According to Don Balon, Quintero is now keen to strike while the iron is hot and seal a return to European football in order to prove himself on a bigger stage.

It is claimed that he has a £26 million release clause in his contract, with both Everton and Liverpool willing to trigger it. A move to Anfield could see Jurgen Klopp’s side finally add a spark of creativity that has been missing since Philippe Coutinho’s exit 14 months ago.

Arsenal are also interested, the report adds, with head coach Unai Emery apparently promising Quintero that he would be handed regular game-time at the Emirates. Could he replace Mesut Ozil?
