Arsene Wenger is about to leave Arsenal but could he stay in the Premier League? Farhad Moshiri reportedly wants a reunion at Everton.

Sam Allardyce might believe in his heart of hearts that he will still be Everton manager next season, but majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri appears to be planning for life after the 63-year-old.

Goal reported last week that Moshiri is still keen on hiring Marco Silva at Goodison Park. And the Daily Star now claims that a manager almost 30 years older than the former Watford boss is also in the frame; a man by the name of Arsene Wenger.

It is understood that Moshiri, who had a stake in Arsenal until 2016, is making regular enquiries about the availability of Wenger, who is set to leave the Gunners after 22 years in North London.

And the Sun has now taken the reports a step further. They claim that Everton are willing to match the £8 million a year salary Wenger gets at Arsenal in order to lure the veteran Frenchman to Merseyside.

But Everton are not the only interested party keen on making full use of Wenger’s massive experience in the game. The 68-year-old admitted this week that he has received more offers than he had expected and it seems not all of those would involve him sitting on the bench.

The Sun adds that PSG want Wenger to become their new director of football, while he has been sounded out to aid Japan coach Akito Nichino at the World Cup this summer. Wenger spent time in the Far East with Grampus Eight before joining Arsenal in 1996.

It is understood that Wenger has also been lined up for a role within FIFA or UEFA, too.
