Denis Suarez has not started a Premier League game since joining Unai Emery’s Arsenal from La Liga champions Barcelona.
Arsenal have decided to send Denis Suarez back to Barcelona at the end of the season with the loanee struggling to make an impression at the Emirates Stadium, as reported by the Sun.
Suarez looked an intelligent signing when he arrived on a short-term basis from the La Liga champions in January, particularly as he has shone under Unai Emery before during a spell at Sevilla.
But the 25-year-old Spanish international has found minutes hard to come by in North London. He has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League, totalling 67 minutes.
As a result, the Sun believes that Suarez is unlikely to join Arsenal on a permanent basis in the summer despite the fact that he can be snapped up for an affordable £18 million.
Emery remains a fan but is concerned that the former Manchester City youngster does not have what it takes to adapt to the pace and power of English football.
The report adds that Emery has chosen another of his former players as Suarez’s replacement – the PSG starlet Christopher Nkunku.
Nkunku was a key player for Emery last season as Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title, and it is claimed that he is stepping up his interest after missing out in January.
