Scottish Premiership ace Lee Wallace will leave Ibrox this summer when his contract expires but will the Rangers star join Dundee United?

Lee Wallace is set to leave Rangers this summer and could be offered a fresh start at Dundee United, according to the Daily Record.

The 31-year-old is one of the longest serving players in the Gers’ squad, having stuck with the club after they were demoted to the fourth tier back in 2012.

But his eight-year stay at Ibrox looks to be coming to an end, one year after he was stripped off the captaincy following a dressing room row with interim coach Graeme Murty.

Wallace, who has made just two Scottish Premiership appearances since Steven Gerrard took over, will be available on a free when his contract expires in July.

And the Daily Record claims that he could be on his way to Tannadice. Dundee United want to sign the 10-time Scotland international left-back and their hopes will certainly be enhanced if they are promoted to the top flight via the play-offs.

A move to Dundee United would see Wallace reunite with his former Hearts team-mate Robbie Neilson, who is now the manager of the Tangerines.

“I played with Robbie for five or six years. He was a top professional who has gone on to become a top and innovative young manager,” Wallace said about Neilson in 2016, as reported by the Scotsman.
