Premier League side Crystal Palace had been in talks to bring Eder to Selhurst Park from Serie A giants Inter Milan but he will now stay at San Siro.

The chances of Eder being a Crystal Palace player by the end of the month now look pretty much non-existent.

The Mail had reported a week ago that the Eagles were in talks with Inter Milan to sign the Italian international for a fee of around £8.5 million.

Eder had not started a Serie A game for Inter since Luciano Spalletti took over and, with Inter aiming to finance a deal to bring in Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge, it seemed that they were keen to cash in on the 31-year-old.

But according to FC Inter News, Eder has no interest in swapping the 2010 Champions League winners and one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs for a side who can realistically hope for mid-table at best this season.

The report understands that the former Sampdoria talisman believes Palace represent a substantial step down and has therefore turned his nose up at the prospect of a winter move to Selhurst Park.

Eder has also rejected approaches from two Chinese clubs and Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg as he aims to fight for his place in an Inter side lacking real attacking alternatives to star striker Mauro Icardi.

The diminutive number ten had only signed a four-year contract extension with the Nerrazzuri in November and seems that he is keen to see it out.

This should see Crystal Palace step up their pursuit of alternative attacking reinforcements before the end of the transfer window with the misfiring Christian Benteke still the only natural centre-forward on Roy Hodgson’s books.
