Championship underachievers Norwich City released a number of experienced Canaries stars last summer and duly struggled.
It looks as if two of Norwich City’s longest serving players are set to bid farewell to Carrow Road this summer.
This time last year, Norwich’s sporting director Stuart Webber overhauled the Canaries’ playing staff by letting a number of experienced players such as Michael Turner, John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Youssouf Mulumbu leave on a free.
Despite the fact that Ruddy and Bennett have played starring roles in Wolves’ promotion, and Mulumbu has been so impressive at Kilmarnock that he is wanted by Celtic and Rangers, it seems that Norwich are once again set to release two first-team regulars.
Hoolahan will turn 36 next month and he is set to leave after ten years as a Norwich player. The 43-time Republic of Ireland international has been forced to accept a reduced role in Daniel Farke’s team this season, failing to score or assist a goal in 2017/18.
And the Pink ‘Un adds that 32-year-old Tettey is set to bid farewell too, with Norwich unlikely to be able to afford his wages. The Norwegian is understood to be after one last lucrative contract as his career enters its autumn years.
Time will tell, however, whether an underachieving Norwich side are making the same mistakes as last summer.
