The Premier League’s bottom club Huddersfield Town are reportedly set to appoint Borussia Dortmund coach Jan Siewert as David Wagner’s replacement.

Huddersfield Town look set to replace the former Borussia Dortmund U23 boss David Wagner with, well, the Borussia Dortmund U23 boss.
According to The Telegraph, The Terriers are closing in on the appointment of the highly-rated Jan Siewert with the club’s succession plan underway.
Wagner bid farewell a week ago with Huddersfield stuck at the bottom of the Premier League and eleven points adrift of safety but chairman Dean Hoyle has moved quickly to secure another exciting young coach from German football.
The report claims that Siewert is Hoyle’s first choice to take over and Huddersfield have agreed to pay around £265,000 in compensation to Dortmund.
The 36-year-old is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year deal and be announced within the next 24 hours.

Siewert has plenty of experience despite his young age, having worked at VFL Bochum and the German national team at U17 and U18 level.
In truth, Huddersfield are probably thinking towards the long-term with his appointment with their chances of escaping the drop this season looking increasingly slim, particularly after Sunday’s 3-0 home reverse to Manchester City.
