Report discloses Ben Foster’s West Brom plans amid £10m Watford interest

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster has been linked with an immediate return to the Premier League with Watford.

Ben Foster is one of the few players in West Bromwich Albion’s squad that seems almost irreplaceable.

The 35-year-old was arguably the pick of a rather poor bunch as the Baggies finished bottom of the Premier League last season and, on paper, there will not be many better goalkeepers in the Championship than the former Manchester United and England man.

So West Brom supporters would have been concerned when reports in the Sun claimed that Watford were planning a £10 million bid to re-sign Foster, who spent two loan spells at Vicarage Road during his formative years at Old Trafford.

It was reported that Watford were hoping the lure of Premier League football would encourage Foster to bid farewell to The Hawthorns after six years of loyal service.

And it is understood that the Hornets had identified the veteran as their new number one with Orestis Karnezis and Costel Pantilimon looking set to leave.

Thankfully for West Brom fans, however, the Birmingham Mail has a positive update. It is understood that Foster has no desire to force a move away this summer as he is very happy and settled in the Midlands.

Foster had stated back in April that he wanted to help West Brom seal their place back in the Premier League and it appears that has not changed, despite the prospect of an immediate return to the top flight with Watford.
