Cameron Jerome could reportedly leave the Championship and Derby County for a move to the Turkish Super Lig with Goztepe.

Cameron Jerome has not featured in even a second of Championship football since Frank Lampard took over at Pride Park this summer.

And reports on the continent are suggesting that the veteran striker could now have played his last game for The Rams, just seven months after he arrived from Norwich City for a fee of £1.5 million, according to Sky Sports.

Turkish outlet Yeni Asir are claiming that Goztepe are looking to bring in a new centre-forward before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this week.

They were hoping to sign the 34-year-old former Brazil international Vagner Love from Besiktas. But it is understood that Goztepe have now turned their attentions to Jerome and have already been in touch with the former Birmingham and Norwich City striker’s agent.

And considering that Jerome’s contract expires next summer and that he appears to have fallen down the pecking order under Lampard, it would make sense to cash in now and try to recoup as much of that £1.5 million investment as possible.

Jerome scored six times in 20 Championship appearances for The Rams.

And he would be the third attacker to leave Derby this summer, following Matej Vydra and Andi Weimann out the door.
