Birmingham City goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak could move to Championship rivals Derby County and reunite with Gary Rowett at Pride Park.

If you had offered Derby County fans a place in the top two at the start of the season they would have bitten your hand of before you’d even finished the sentence.
As it stands, the Rams are the ‘closest’ rivals to runaway league leaders Wolves and, after years of underachievement and last-gasp collapses, appear to have the character and tenacity under Gary Rowett to go all the way to the Premier League.
So with wholesale changes not needed to the squad this month, it appears that Rowett wants to use the transfer market to plug a few gaps and enhance the overall strength of his roster.

A deal to sign his former Birmingham City goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak would do just that. According to the Sun (live transfer blog), Derby are exploring the possibility of bringing the veteran Pole to Pride Park as competition for Scott Carson.
And Kuszczak, who has lost his place in Birmingham’s team since the signing of David Stockdale from Brighton, is understood to be keen on a reunion with Rowett in the East Midlands.
The 35-year-old former Manchester United custodian would represent a more proven, experienced back-up at Derby than the seldom-seen Kelle Roos or highly-rated youngster Jonathan Mitchell.

“I don’t think there’s too many keepers who make the saves he makes. That’s why we brought him in to the club,” Rowett told the Birmingham Mail of Kuszczak in November 2016.
Rowett will be hoping Kusczak has a similar impact at Derby.
