Mulumbu is expected to leave Scottish Premiership champions with Kilmarnock and Derby County allegedly interested.

Youssouf Mulumbu could leave Celtic after just half a season at Parkhead with Derby County keen to offer him a fresh start, according to the Express (31 January, page 52).
The 32-year-old midfielder arrived in Glasgow last summer after an excellent spell at Kilmarnock but he has made just three appearances under Brendan Rodgers – despite a series of injury problems keeping captain Scott Brown on the sidelines.
As a result, Celtic have told Mulumbu that he is free to leave this month. And it is understood that Derby are interested in a short-term loan deal for the one-time West Brom and Norwich City midfielder.
Frank Lampard is keen to sign an experienced central midfielder before today’s transfer deadline with Leicester City’s Wales international Andy King also on his radar (Sky).

Interestingly, The Express adds that Kilmarnock could launch a bid to bring Mulumbu back to Rugby Park too. The DR Congo international made 20 appearances for Steve Clarke’s side last season and was a major hit with his intelligence and combativeness in the centre of the park.
Whether Celtic will let Mulumbu leave for a potential title rival, however, remains to be seen.
