Omar Richards will be out of contract at Reading by next summer and Derby County are hoping to take full advantage.

With just seven months remaining on Omar Richards’ contract, Reading are facing up to the prospect of losing one of their most exciting young talents for nothing.
And, according to The Sun, Championship rivals Derby County are hoping to take full advantage.
The 19-year-old has emerged into the first-team fold this season and has made three appearances in England’s second tier. But how many more he makes in the colours of Reading remains to be seen.

The Sun claims that Premier League side Bournemouth are chasing the teenage left-back, who could be available for as little as £2 million in the New Year. It is understood, however, that Derby are also keen after Richards impressed against the Rams in Reading’s 4-2 win at Pride Park prior to the international break.
Richards has been compared to former England international Ashley Cole, which should tell you a lot about the talent and style of this highly-rated full-back. Richards, who moved to Reading after his release from Fulham’s academy, is an exciting and attack minded player with potential by the bucket-load.

Although first-team football would not be easy to come by if he makes the move to Derby, with both Craig Forsyth and Marcus Olsson fighting it out for a place on the left of Gary Rowett’s back four.
