David Vaughan will reportedly join Jack Hobbs and Chris Cohen in bidding farewell to Championship side Nottingham Forest this summer.
The summer cull is under way at Nottingham Forest.
Manager Aitor Karanka allegedly wants to bring in at least ten new players this summer and, of course, some will therefore have to make way.
Injury-stricken centre-back Jack Hobbs (below) admitted to the Sun that he is unlikely to be offered a new contract this summer and the Nottingham Post is now reporting that David Vaughan could follow him out the exit.
Like Hobbs, Vaughan will be a free agent this summer and has suffered from fitness problems this season, meaning he has made just two Championship appearances since Karanka took over from Mark Warburton four months ago.
The 35-year-old has been an excellent servant for Forest since joining initially on loan from Sunderland back in the 2013/14 season. The Welsh international was particularly impressive in the last few months of the previous campaign, in which he produced a series of fantastic midfield performances as Forest avoided relegation on the final day of the campaign.
Vaughan will be joined in leaving by 31-year-old Chris Cohen, who partnered him in the centre of the park in the first few months of Warburton’s tenure.
Cohen has suffered injury problems for a number of years now and will retire at the end of the campaign.
