Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly set to sign Australia’s World Cup starlet Daniel Arzani and loan him to Celtic.

Daniel Arzani of Australia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group C match between Australia and Peru at Fisht Stadium on June 26, 2018 in Sochi, Russia.

Daniel Arzani could be a Celtic player in the next 24 hours.

That is according to ESPN anyway, who believe the youngest player at the 2018 World Cup is on the verge of joining Brendan Rodgers’ Scottish Premiership champions.

The 19-year-old exploded on to the scene with Melbourne City in the last year, winning the A-League’s Young Player of the Year award before making three lively cameo appearances for the Socceroos in Russia. And his sudden rise is only set to continue, with ESPN reporting that Manchester City are set to sign him before sending him out to Celtic.

And ESPN is claiming that Arzani is set to travel to Scotland on Wednesday in order to finalise his move to the Hoops, while watching Celtic’s crucial Champions League qualifier with Greek outfit AEK Athens.

Daniel Arzani of Australia takes part during an Australia Socceroos training session ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018 at Stadium Trudovye Rezervy on June 12, 2018 in Kazan, Russia.

Arzani might be a teenager but he already appears to have picked up that knack of changing games, so he will only add to the attacking riches at Rodgers’ disposal in 2018/19.

He is at his best when cutting inside from the left on to his dangerous right foot, meaning the out of sorts Scott Sinclair could face a real scrap for a starting place next season.

Daniel Arzani of Australia takes on Pedro Aquino of Peru during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group C match between Australia and Peru at Fisht Stadium on June 26, 2018 in Sochi, Russia.
