Patrik Schick has struggled at Serie A giants Roma and a move to the Premier League with Crystal Palace is on the cards

Patrik Schick was a striker on the rise when he became Roma’s £18 million record signing in the summer of 2017.

The Czech starlet had just come of the back of an outstanding campaign with Sampdoria, scoring an impressive 11 goals in 14 starts for the Blucherati and earning comparisons with the Inter Milan legend Dennis Bergkamp for his velvet touch and clinical finishing.

Since then, however, his reputation has really suffered at the Stadio Olimpico. Schick scored twice in 22 Serie A games in a hugely underwhelming debut season for Roma and things haven’t got much better in 2018/19 either.

Manager Eusebio Di Francesco has handed Schick just 288 minutes of league football. And, according to Calciomercato, a loan move is on the cards in the January transfer window with Crystal Palace keen to give the 22-year-old the chance to prove himself in the Premier League.

AS Roma new player Patrik Schick looks on during the friendly match between AS Roma and Chapecoense at Olimpico Stadium on September 1, 2017 in Rome, Italy.

While Schick has struggled to oust the evergreen Edin Dzeko at Roma, he’d surely find it easier to get into Palace’s starting XI with neither Christian Benteke or Alexander Sorloth impressing between the talented wing duo of Wilfried Zaha or Andros Townsend.

Bologna, Parma and Udinese are also interested in Schick while Real Valladolid, who are sitting ninth after an impressive return to La Liga, want to take the gifted forward to Spain.
