Could former AC Milan defender Gustavo Gomez be heading to the Premier League with Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Gustavo Gomez after watching the centre-back in action during Paraguay’s Copa America campaign, according to ABC.
Palace appear to have made a new central defender one of their top priorities during the current transfer window and Gomez is the second South American-based talent to be linked with a move to Selhurst Park of late.
Futebol Interior reported last week that the Londoners were eyeing £7 million Santos star Lucas Verissimo.
Unlike him, however, Gomez has experienced European football before. The 26-year-old spent the 2016/17 season at AC Milan, playing just 19 games for the Serie A giants, before returning to South America with Palmeiras.
Gomez spent last season on loan at Luis Felipe Scolari’s side before joining on a permanent basis earlier this month. But the uncompromising centre-back could be on the move once again with a switch to the Premier League on the cards.

Crystal Palace have been watching him in action during the Copa America as Gomez took his tally of international caps to 33. Paraguay reached the quarter-finals on Tuesday thanks to Ecuador’s 1-1 draw with Japan.
But if Gomez does arrive at Selhurst Park, he’ll be hoping that his second spell in Europe is better than the first one.
