Premier League club Crystal Palace are understood to be interested in France’s Ligue 1 prodigy Alban Lafont.

Despite finally welcoming Vicente Guaita to Selhurst Park from Galatasaray, it seems that Crystal Palace are on the lookout for another new goalkeeper.

The Eagles were linked with Tolouse’s teenage prodigy Alban Lafont back in May. The uber-talented glovesman has been a Ligue 1 regular since the age of 16 and has already made over 100 first-team appearances. No wonder the 19-year-old has been labelled by some as France’s answer to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

And new reports in L’Equipe have given Palace’s hopes of landing Lafont a boost. It is understood that Toulouse are set to sign the Rennes goalkeeper Baptiste Reynet and he could be a replacement for the Burkina Faso-born France U20 ace.

The report adds that Lafont has made it clear that he wants to leave Toulouse this summer after they survived by the skin of their teeth via the relegation play-off last season.

And Crystal Palace are reported to have held talks with Lafont a few weeks ago, although there is also concrete interest from PSV and Fiorentina.

Lafont has been linked with Arsenal over the years, while L’Equipe claimed back in March that Newcastle United were plotting an ambitious bid.

Crystal Palace, however, now seem like the most obvious Premier League destination for one of the finest young shot-stoppers in Europe.
